Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star

We have been working hard on Skylar's room. Skylar's Grandfather (hereafter to be called Papa) did a beautiful job re-finishing my Grandmother Ruby Emma's antique furniture. There is a chest of drawers, bed, night stand, and desk. He took it apart, sanded it completely down, fixed the flood damaged parts, and then white washed it. Papa made this furniture look brand new! Thank you Papa for your time, hard work, and expertise! :)

This furniture has been in my family for a very long time, and I think this will be very sturdy furniture for a boy. It was used by my Grandmother Ruby Emma, my parents, and now will be used by our son. This furniture also survived three feet of storm surge from Hurricane Ike. It is comforting for me to know Skylar will be surrounded by the same furniture my Grandmother used and my parents used. I know they are smiling down from Heaven.

We have also been busy painting and decorating Skylar's room. Faith helped Daddy paint, and they had a great time doing it while Mommy was at work. Daddy even embellished the walls with beautiful stars! Thank you Daddy! :)

Skylar's room is a space/heavens/earth theme. We hope he'll like it and feel very welcomed when he comes home!

My dear sweet son we'll be there soon! Mommy and Daddy can't wait to hug and hold you!
