October 2011 - Fabulous Faith's Aquarium Birthday!

. . . Still behind on blogging. Oh, how time gets away from me! :(


In October we celebrated fabulous Faith's birthday. I can't believe she has grown so much. It was just yesterday when she was an infant and I could hold her all day long. Really, I mean just yesterday!

Now, she's a beautiful pre-K toddler expressing her opinions, and even correcting Mommy. You haven't lived until you've been corrected by a toddler. :)

Faith has always loved penguins and was beside herself with joy when Mommy told her we were going to have her birthday party at Moody Gardens. And, when I told her that a penguin was coming to her party for a close encounter, she giggled, squealed her little girl squeal, and jumped for joy. She couldn't wait to go to school the next day to tell all of her friends.

Since we were having a party we decided to have a week long birthday celebration. This way Faith could open her gifts and enjoy each one!

Another day, now to open more gifts!

Faith had a great time opening her presents, and Skylar really enjoyed watching her and cheering her on. By opening presents ahead of time Faith had time to play with each toy and appreciate and enjoy each gift. I have to add that Faith said thank you after each gift. :)

On the day of Faith's party we were all so excited we were grins and giggles. I hoped it would be a good event, but the party was FABULOUS! We were immediately all filled with awe when we walked into Faith's party room and it was already decorated, and one entire wall of the room, floor to ceiling, was part of the huge aquarium!

 This shark was a very welcome party guest. 

He stayed close to the glass during the entire party.

The party room was incredible! This party package was amazing. It included the invitations, maps, decorated room, punch, cookie cake, cups and stuff, a host, and there were different play stations and games all around the room! And, no clean up. :)

Everyone had a great time filling the fish with differently colored sand, playing bingo, coloring, playing bag toss, and all of the other games. After lots of fun playing it was time to meet the penguin - Nelson.

 Everyone said hello to Nelson, and was able to ask all kinds of questions.

Then, as if on cue, Nelson honked very loudly and pooped yellow penguin poop.

They were absolutely delighted!

They thought this was the best part about meeting Nelson. :) 

 Faith had some trepidation about standing next to Nelson.

 Here she started to relax, but everyone was moving in a different direction.

After meeting Nelson the Emperor Penguin, we went back to Faith's party room. We all had too much cake, cookies, and punch. Then, Faith sat under her birthday girl canopy and opened presents.

 Faith enjoyed all of her gifts. She hugged each friend after opening their gifts. She received a lot of fabulous gifts from her friends, and she gave lots of hugs. I think everyone had a fantastic time!

That night we all slept the deep sleep of exhaustion. This Mommy went to bed with a sense of accomplishment, satisfaction, and gratitude for God's amazing grace, and the blessing of children.
