Our rule is that if you are a child and you go out on the pool deck whether to walk around, play, swim, or go to the boat dock you must wear your life jacket. Notice that in the first picture Faith escaped the house without her life jacket. In the following pictures you see the progression of her life jacket on, then buckled and zipped. Note: Mommy and Daddy were both present. We also have HIGH locks on all doors to the pool deck so that Faith and Skylar cannot get out without Mommy or Daddy unlocking and opening doors and gates.
Faith preferred to spend her time coloring the pool deck with a slurry of chalk mixed with pool water. While Skylar preferred to ride the pool puppy. We had a difficult time getting him off of it and out of the pool. Everyone had a glorious time!
Great tea party!! We too had the same PFD rule - in particular when we vacationed on the UP in Michigan - even for adults! That water is just plain shocks.you.cold and that's enough for anyone to need a PFD! Love the one's with the 'handles' too - made fishing them out of the drink way easier!!
