Houston Chinese Consulate Celebration of Year of the Rabbit - 2011

We were very honored and thrilled to be invited to celebrate the Chinese New Year of the Rabbit at the Houston Chinese Consulate. This reception and luncheon was for "American Families with Children from China" and was hosted by Honorable Consul General Gao Yanping.

It was a beautiful occasion. There were speeches by officials, wonderful dancers, Chinese harp music, games and prizes, dumpling making, Chinese calligraphy, gifts for the children and a very nice buffet. We had a lovely time at this wonderful event. It was really a lot of fun!!

 Okay, let's try this again.

Skylar knocked only one pin down, so he ran up and knocked all of the other pins down with his hands.

Chinese calligraphy where we had Skylar's name and Faith's name written in Chinese.

Skylar is looking for Shenyang on the map of China so he can place his red dot.

 Beautiful butterfly dancer. How amazing!

This dancer's performance and the music was so beautiful that it gave me chills!
